Helping students understand bioenergy engages them in current socio-scientific issues. Using petroleum as an energy source impacts climate change and is becoming more expensive to produce. Developing fuels from biological sources is important for future energy production. This presentation introduces bioenergy as way to teach energy flows in nature for science learning in middle-school and high school science. We will explore hands-on activities and materials will be provided.
